We stepped into the orange cauldron tonight. I thought I wasn't in Milan, but The Hague. The Netherlands are serious about their speedskating. They even brought out their best skater who was "randomly paired up" against Jordan Stolz. He stepped up and broke the Olympic record. I DID feel bad for the Dutch guy who had to go twice because of the Chinese athlete obstructed him. Dude was flying, but doing THAT race, wasn't going to be possible at full tilt in one night. Lots of guys seemed to run out of gas.

The Dutch fans were amazing. Everyone we've met from all over the world is wonderful. The vibes immaculate. I'll keep sharing my experiences because people seem at least somewhat interested.

Tomorrow we do a moderately long journey to Livigno to see Chloe Kim in the women's half pipe final. I wonder if Myles Garrett will be there!?!

Ice dancing has been a cesspool of anti-US judging collusion for decades. Absolutely nothing surprising about seeing yet another US pair get screwed.

Good to know the biasness towards the Canadians, French and Russians are still strong.

Cross country skiing does not look like a very fun sport. I prefer sports where I don't have to collapse in the snow and writhe around in agony moaning, "AHH AHH AHH!" at the end.

Scary fall for Korean competitor in the first run of the women's halfpipe contest. She eventually got up and slid off under her own power. Falls from 22 feet are no joke.

In the interview after she said she felt like she was going to pass out or die, and actually wanted to pass out instead of dealing with the amount of pain she was feeling. Fun!

Myles is at the pipe with a camera the size of a small velociraptor.

This halfpipe event has judges from Japan (Chloe Kim's chief competition) and France, but no Americans.

There are no French competitors, but based on the behavior of his figure skating brethren, the French judge is probably crooked as a three dollar bill.

Feel slightly bad hoping all these athletes crash so we can hold on to gold

I have decided that the halfpipe does not look like a very fun sport, either.

If I want to go for a run, I just put on my sneakers and put one foot in front of the other. I don't have to spend time psyching myself up and praying to the baby Jesus that I won't die trying to hit my triple switch McFlurry 1440.

Oh well, Chloe's boyfriend is an Aggie and a Cleveland Brown. He can empathize with losing.

I am really impressed that the Korean girl even got back out there. I thought she was dead for a minute after she fell on the first run.

Part German. Lots of family on my grandfather side are German. I always root for team USA or team Germany.

It was atmospheric in Livigno tonight, the snow was coming down hard. Chloe Kim put up a huge score on run 1, and no one got close until the third and final run where Choi Gaon from S.Korea beat it with an incredible run. Then she had to go HUIGE on the final run of the day but of course couldn't land it. Most of life isn't a zero sum game, so Silver is good. She's medaled in 3 straight Olympics so she's an all-timer.

There were some Koreans in the crowd and they celebrated like it was a K-pop concert. A joy to watch.

Myles was there hanging out with Snoop Dogg and Shaun White. They were far from us.

Tomorrow we go back up the mountain to see the women's snowboard cross.

Best thing that kid could have done was never mentioned the whole cheating, breaking up bit. Now that the cat is out of the bag. Winning bronze isnt going to get the girl back. It might get you an Italian chick who at best is a 3.
