Each Monday during the 2025 Texas A&M football season, we’ll identify a first or second-year Aggie player who delivered an exceptional performance over the weekend and earned the distinction of being the week’s “Overnight Sensation.”

Not much went right for the Aggies on Friday night.

Texas wiped away Texas A&M's SEC Championship berth and a perfect regular season with a 27-17 decision in Austin.

The bright spots were few and far between, but by definition, the first or second-year Aggie who was most impactful was KC Concepcion.

With 127 all-purpose yards, it would have been hard for the Aggies to do anything on offense without Concepcion, and his work on special teams kept A&M in the game.

Yes, the loss in a rivalry game makes it hard to focus on any positives right now.

But all in all, Concepcion has been a massive difference-maker for the Maroon & White all year, finishing the regular season with 1,409 all-purpose yards.

A forgettable second half left much to be desired, but Concepcion's three catches for 35 yards allowed the Aggies to have some success in the first half.

With 5:11 to go before heading to the locker room, A&M needed an answer to a 3-3 ballgame.

Concepcion returned a punt 30 yards to start the drive in plus-territory. He then converted a big third down by picking up 12. Inside Texas' 10, the Aggies ran a jet sweep to the NC State transfer, who hauled it eight yards and right into the end zone to score the first touchdown of the night.

With the rushing score, he became the first Aggie to score a punt return touchdown, receiving touchdown and rushing touchdown in a season since at least 1967.

As the night wore on, Marcel Reed struggled. The offense was silenced, and Concepcion only caught two passes in the second half.

One of which was a 19-yard gain that helped A&M's last-ditch march to make it a one-score game. That was until Reed threw an interception.

Although it seems nothing went right in Austin, Concepcion still managed to piece together a few moments worth noting.

With 12 touchdowns to his name this season, the Aggies will need #7 to keep scoring six as they enter the College Football Playoff.
