of a big thumbs up for landing craver. he is like devontae smith at bama a few years ago. nearly unstoppable and we have conception on the other side.
carl torbush WOW
He’s not an Italian plumber.
But he is an Irish tormenter.
For his role in Texas A&M’s 41-40 triumph over Notre Dame, Texas A&M wide receiver Mario Craver has been named the Associated Press’ Player of the Week.
On 12 total targets, Craver reeled in seven catches for 207 total yards, including an 86-yard touchdown in the first quarter.
Slippery and explosively quick, the Aggie did most of his damage after the catch, racking up 139 yards of YAC in South Bend.
Craver’s first three games in Maroon & White have been much more than impressive.
He has been record-breaking. He has been historic. He has been legendary.
On Saturday, Craver became the first Aggie to notch three consecutive 100-yard receiving games since Ryan Swope in 2012.
Further, Craver’s 207 receiving yards rank seventh on A&M’s all-time individual game list, just behind Albert Connell’s 208 vs. Colorado in 1996 and just ahead of Swope’s 206 vs. Baylor in 2011.
Need more? He became A&M’s first 200-yard receiver since Mike Evans set the single-game record with 287 against Auburn in 2013.
Still unimpressed? First, see a neurologist. Second, look at the national leaderboard for receiving yardage. You’ll find that A&M’s No. 1 is No. 1 with 443 yards on just 20 catches.
Craver, along with KC Concepcion, has played a major role in helping Collin Klein and Marcel Reed turn the Aggie offense into a force to be reckoned with, at least early in 2025. A&M is currently averaging 42.3 points per game to rank 24th nationally and sixth in the SEC.
Already surpassing his 2024 totals for catches, yards and touchdowns in just three games this fall, Craver now earns a national weekly honor.
Somehow, despite being the top player in the nation, he was not even the “best” offensive player in the league as the SEC bestowed its Offensive Player of the Week award on Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton.
Mario has indeed been super.
I was less impressed with Gunner Stockton than the Tennessee QB, let alone others like Craver more deserving of the weekly SEC offensive award. LolQuote:
