The Aggies came into this one following a couple of shaky defensive outings — the type of efforts that probably had third-year defensive coordinator Mike Elko scratching his head considering elevated expectations heading into the season. Combine that with the fact that the Ags were traveling to Starkville to take on Mike Leach and the Bulldog Air Raid, and a defense that hadn't generated enough pass rush and was having trouble on the back end was definitely in the crosshairs.
