Tuesday Recruiting Notes
Texas A&M is gearing up for their first weekend of Junior Day visitors and the action is already heating up in the 2027 class. Argyle (TX) Liberty Christian LB Cooper Witten has confirmed his plans to be in College Station this weekend. With his father being named Oklahoma's TE Coach there has been plenty of speculating about what it means for Cooper's recruitment. The Sooners have been and will be a big presence in his recruitment, but getting him back to College Station and around new LB coach Travis Williams is positive movement for the Aggies. We just published an interview with Haymarket (VA) Battlefield 2027 LB Noah Glover. The Aggies were among his first offers and Jay Bateman led his recruitment. He was not able to visit this fall, but the program made a strong impression and new LB coach Travis Williams recently stopped by to see him out in Virginia. His former Battlefield teammate Wesley Williams who played for Elko at Duke spoke very highly of Elko and at Under Armour he had Kamarui Dorsey in his ear. He will be in town for his first visit to Texas A&M this weekend. Check out the interview for more details. Under Armour All-American Noah Glover heads to Aggieland this week | TexAgsAnother LB coach Williams recently stopped through to see is Swainsboro (GA) 2027 Ja'Bios Smith. The Aggies offered back in April and made his top 10 in September along with Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Michigan, South Carolina, and Tennessee. As the tweet below indicates he is planning a visit to College StationThanks Coach @T_WILL4REAL and @AggieFootball for stopping by and spending the day with me. I really enjoyed the visit and look forward to the trip to College Station! @ChadSimmons_ @SWiltfong247 @RustyMansell_ @adamgorney @LemmingReport @LM_Sports_Media @_DwightSmith pic.twitter.com/Vl03EtiZEn— Ja’bios “Bigfoot” Smith (@jabiossmith) January 10, 2026 In state things have slowed down a little bit between the Aggies and Arlington (TX) Lamar LB Braylon Williams. He is currently planning to visit Texas this weekend and Kentucky on the 24th. Forney (TX) North Forney WR Briceson Thrower has two visits on his schedule. He plans to visit Texas this weekend and he will visit Texas A&M on January 24. Thrower visited this fall and of the in-state receivers with offers Thrower is one getting a lot of attention from the Aggies right now. Fort Worth (TX) North Crowley CB John Meredith III told us before Christmas he planned to visit Texas A&M soon, and while the date has not been set just yet, keep an eye out for the Jan 24 weekend. Whether or not he makes it in that weekend I do look for the Aggies to get a visit in the not too distant future. Cedar Hill (TX) DL Jalen Brewster is coming off a standout Under Armour week performance and the Texas Tech commit continues to evaluate his options. The Aggies continue to pursue and right now they are working out their schedule. Cypress (TX) Cy Ranch DL Amari Vickerson is set to decide on January 18. The Aggies are a finalist, but we continue to hear things are trending elsewhere there at the moment. The Aggies already having Myels Smith and Elijah Patmon in the class give the Aggies some solid footing on the interior DL. As always we will have a full list of visitors later in the week. Just now Englewood (CO) Cherry Creek OL Jackson Roper retweeted the report by Brandon Huffman that he will visit A&M this weekend. One of the nation's best and a guy coach Cushing and Co got in on early, he's one OOS OL to keep on the radar. We have also confirmed most of the 2027 class will be in College Station for one weekend or another and I'd expect all of them will eventually be confirmed. It is also still All-American Bowl season and this week it is the Polynesian Bowl. The game will be played Friday, January 16 at 8 p.m. and includes quite a few Texas A&M targets. TexAgs National Average Rating

The TexAgs National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TexAgs readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

TexAgs Rating

The TexAgs Recruiting team of Billy Liucci, David Sandhop, Jason Howell, Ryan Brauninger and a host of recruiting interns attends more than 75 games each fall and observes and evaluates every major Texas A&M target, as well as most of the top 150 prospects in the State of Texas. From this evaluation the team draws a rating for each prospect on a scale between 70 and 100.

99-100: Elite national prospect (Five-star)

Considered one of the best prospects in the nation and a likely difference-maker at the collegiate level. Displays all of the physical skills to be a future All-American with potential to be an early-round NFL draft pick.

90-98: Elite state prospect (Four-star)

Considered one of the best 30-40 prospects in the state and a top 250 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to be a major early contributor at the collegiate level with high professional potential.

80-89: Quality prospect (Three-star)

Considered one of the best 100 prospects in the state and a top 500 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to develop into a contributor over the course of his college career. Has the ability to become a professional prospect over time with development.

70-79: Solid prospect (Two-star)

Considered one of the top 250 prospects in the state. Has the physical skills to be a potential contributor at a D-1 program over the course of his collegiate career with significant development. Professional potential is low.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
