Wishful thinking. Womens Tennis won a Natty few years back and got only an updated locker room.

I said it on the game thread, he's the best coach we've ever had in any sport. Absolutely unbelievable job he's done in three years. I know him and his family personally, and he's a great dude. I can understand why the team plays so hard for him

Pat Henry, legendary track and field coach at Texas A&M, has won a combined 37 NCAA National Championships (10 with A&M and 27 with LSU)

It's not even close. Pat Henry is certainly the goat across all sports.

Coach Morrison is great. But as noted, Coach Henry has been amazing. Coach Weaver has had success with the Womens Tennis program. Multiple sweet 16s, multiple Elite 8s, national championship, followed by a national runner-up season. But Coach Pat Henry has set the bar.

This is how you build a team and a program. Love the publicity we are getting. You know what they say...

if you build it, they will come

Amen. It's a disgrace A&M doesn't have indoor tennis courts. I believe only SEC school without them. Ironically, it's the one facility A&M could build that would actually earn back much of its costs from community memberships..

#1 Someone already mentioned Pat Henry. He is one of one and no one else is close.

I'd rank Gary Blair #2, I don't think I need to list his resume.

#3 Mark Weaver has a national championship and a national runner up in the last 2 seasons. He was also the assistant coach on another runner up team and was a hell of a player for the mens team.

What Morrison has done in 3 years is amazing and I think he is not done winning championships but as far as best ever in any sport, let's tap the brakes and let him earn it.

I'd rank Morrison ahead of Blair. Blair was not very good after he won the NC, unfortunately... I find that hard to believe Morrison will let the program go down much. He is just getting started. Morrison is also a lot more recognized at the national level for volleyball than Blair for basketball (team USA development)..

You are misremembering. Blair was bad his last year and that ended a streak of 15 or 16 years in the top 25 with many top 10 finishes.

His 2nd to last year they went 25-3 and finished ranked #4 in the country. The year before that they were ranked #5 and Covid hit. And don't forget that the program he inherited was putrid.

I don't want to diminish anything that Morrison has done and I am sure he is not done winning but the fact of the matter is that he's in his 3rd season.

We better announce his contract extension before the plan lands.

Elko beat a couple teams with a winning record and is now one of the highest paid coaches, let's reward coaches with results!

And more NIL. I asked him about it last year; he wasn't complaining by any means but just mentioned the gap between Nebraska/tu and everyone else

The end was bad... I guess that's what I remember most... It's not a knock on Blair that I just think Morrison is so good. I've said this before - I wouldn't trade him with any other VBall coach. I wouldn't ever go that far with Blair, even at his peak.. The future of Aggie volleyball is bright with Morrison..

Bob Brock won three titles. The last two were an NCAA one while the other one was the body that sanctioned softball before the NCAA. He had a one woman wrecking crew in Shawn Andaya that was a dominant pitcher and great hitter that anchored mid 80s teams.

I'll repeat what I posted in an earlier thread.

My niece played vball for Ole Miss and she is very familiar with Coach Morrison. The day we signed him on she told me "y'all are going to be a powerhouse and it's not gonna take long". Didn't know what to think because, frankly, that just doesn't happen at A&M. But man. She nailed it.

He may not be the greatest coach ever at A&M but in three years he's already put himself on Mt Rushmore
