24 doubles probably tells the story there. I'm going to bet he didn't play in the friendliest of parks.

Go get pitching....and when you think you have that solved, get more pitching.

Get ALL the pitchers???

I want a team of ONLY pitchers.

Pitchers and Shortstops who can hit, sprinkle in a Catcher or two… that will do the trick.

Def OF. Bindy did enough for me to think he can lock down 1B.

This. WKU ballpark does not allow a lot of home runs.

Yes, Bindy could if he ever became consistent.

Sure, if he can dramatically cut down on K's. Those empty ABs are the reason a high-powered offense can occasionally get completely shut down. We need more table-setters, the guys who are not necessarily HR threats, but are scrappy, tough outs EVERY at bat, with LOW strikeouts. A solo dinger every 10AB with 5K's in between just isn't enough.

Where are the pitchers with good hard sliders (not slurves) or splitters and plus changeups? Or who throw good sinkers that are hard to get underneath. Let's sign several of those.

Need guys who can throw pitches that look like fastballs for longer. Freshcorn and Billings had the only memorable sliders, and it seemed like everyone else had some form of slurve (which IMO is a HS pitch). And aside from Sims and Bond, we were almost entirely incapable of disrupting hitters' timing this year. That's why we gave up so many HRs and ended up with opponents fighting at the bat rack.

Jorian was at .351

I don't have the full context of this, but there are potential new Grahovic's out there, but they are likely to be pricey NIL wise. Maybe this is saying we aren't going to pay as much NIL for 2027 for bats, and are looking to allocate more to the pitching?

The combination of Grahovic + Sorrell + Hacopian had to eat up quite a bit of the 2026 NIL funds available.

I am sure this is accurate, but I think it may be somewhat comparing apples to oranges a bit. Wilson likely had a higher % of his AB's against SEC competition, which is going to be detrimental to his numbers. But obviously towards the end of the season Wilson slid off a cliff and that killed his overall numbers. Hopefully he can learn from that and be in a better position to handle SEC pitching next season.

LOL Thats right. Binderup tore up the Oakland and Tenn tech pitching staffs. Meanwhile the good hitters also faced SEC pitching every game of conference play.

Cmon 45, Hunter Vincent had by far the best slider on the team. If that dude ever gets his confidence back, look out!

It's a slightly Aggie edited movie quote from Moneyball.

Now you have the full context.

Pitching was different at the beginning of the season.
Lost Stewart, McCoy, and then Sims late.

Every single year you're going to lose arms to injury, which is why I would always overload and stack up arm talent.

…and he struck out over 40% of the time, with the bulk of his ABs against non-conference teams. Good to see him improving towards end of year RE K percentage, but for significant portions of the year he looked completely lost at the plate.

As for comparing him to Sorrell and Grahovac, he's not a guy anyone focused on and was therefore able surprise some folks. S & G got everyone's absolute best stuff, every AB. Plus Bindy looks like he's standing still compared to S&G when it comes to baserunning.

But again to my main point: We need more guys who can put the ball in play and get on base against even the elite pitchers so that we keep pressure on them and force their pitch count higher. Uncompetitive strikeouts do nothing but boost the confidence of the pitcher.

Just had dinner at Walk-Ons and sat next to the Elko family. Mama Elko was decked out in Virginia gear which had us a little curious. Now we know why.
