It usually is, with the linear ESPN channels carrying 30 minute blocks of it (with commercials inserted). At least that's what I remember.

Man do not want to see Mason in Game 2, assuming the Ags and USC win. We struggle with dominant pitching of late. Here's to hoping Texas State can find a way to upset the Trojans.

I'm not saying he isn't a great pitcher, but there is a massive difference between SEC hitting and Big 10 hitting.

He's very good. Hopefully he'll be facing Lamar in an elimination game. He strikes out a lot of hitters and we strike out a lot. We're going to have to work counts and go deep, all of which lead to a lot of 2 strike counts, some (many?) of which will result in K's. It's a tradeoff. But he's not untouchable and much of his season is against pretty sub-par competition. Against the best competition on his resume...

Mar 27: Maryland - 4.1IP, 4H, 4R, 6BB, 10K, 111pitches
Apr 3: UCLA - 4.2IP, 7H, 4R, 4BB, 5K, 2WP, 95pitches
Apr 17: Nebraska - 7IP, 9H, 2R, 0BB, 12K, 105pitches (bullpen gave up 6 after he left the game)
Apr 24: Purdue - 5IP, 2H, 3R, 5BB, 12K, 107pitches
May 14: Oregon - 6IP, 4H, 0R, 3BB, 12K, 105 pitches

In short, we need to be patient (no matter what the dolts on TexAgs think about swinging about the first pitch every time), work counts, take walks where they come and get him the hell out of the game. He's going to go 105 pitches. Let's make sure that's 5 innings and not 7.

I remember feeling a little sorry for Yale in that '93 regional...our game against them ended at about 2:00 A.M. and their elimination game was at 11:00.

"Let Cookie pitch!" in the championship game...he was a very good sport about the needling he got from the Raggies.

Not a whole lot of dramatics for us in that regional.

As an aside, I miss the old six-team regionals and mingling with fans from more schools. The schedules for those sometimes got seriously out of whack if/when weather issues cropped up.

Closest thing to dramatics for the Ags was an early lead by Lamar with A&M finally taking the lead in the middle innings just before one of the frequent rain delays in the first two days of the regional could kill the rally.

here we go...regional play begins tomorrow...

and since joining the SEC, the Ags have been an exceptional home team in the postseason

A&M has won its 4 previous home regionals (2015, 2016, 2022, 2024) in the SEC era

going 13-1 and currently riding a 12-game home winning streak in the regional round
