Maybe I just saw what I wanted to see.
Hopefully our approach to hitting has reverted back to when we would go deeper in the counts ..., seeing more pitches ..., waiting for our pitch ..., making the current pitcher pitch more pitches ..., getting into the opponent's bullpens...
Boomer made a good point last night stating with these lower rung teams that don't have the power arms you'll see when we get into our conference games, we had to be more patient as you weren't going to see as many fastballs (i.e., you're in the lineup because you can hit a fastball--where you are in the lineup is how good you hit the off speed). With power (SEC) pitching, you'll see more fast balls (challenging the hitter); whereas, when you're consistently in the 80s to low 90s, pitchers will throw more off speed.
TTUs second pitcher had more success as he was hitting spots, but eventually we caught up to him.
