I think there is one more of the guards - either Hill or Lane - who will be in a similar situation next year that Agee was this year.

It's Hill, but who knows where they're going to land on that right now.

Someone on here did a good roster breakdown, we should sticky that thread.

Clemence has another year because of a medical redshirt apparently.

Yes that would be helpful.

Now while those might be able to return and have certainly worked hard and been good team mates.
If we give Bucky a bunch of cash, how many of those would he want to return over who he might be able to get this off-season.
It is obvious to Bucky we have to have more talent to beat good teams. In today's world, I think a few of those players will only be back if he can't find better talent.
I am enjoying this season and have Been really impressed with how hard the team members have played, But you don't keep and pay players now that can't really help much.

I think Hill will be back ultimately. But it's not a 100% guarantee. He has played 3 years of NCAA basketball.

Yeah, I just think the NCAA finally has some momentum on its side and might take a harder line on the juco thing, but we'll see.

There seems to be some momentum towards a "five to play five" rule, and if they do that it would seem to make some common sense to me that juco ball should count as one year of your five no matter how much of it you played. Whether you want for a year or two years, you'd enter with "four to play four."

Bucky will have to look at existing talent very carefully before deciding who to keep that can stay another year.
Like Zack is an interesting question mark. He has had some good and bad games. With his height if you kept him on the outside he would have an easier time shooting 3s. But with our lack of height in the paint this year we need his help collecting rebounds and blocking shots.

The thing that makes any of this hard to speculate on is for the most part we have no idea what these guys cost. Like Clemence seems like a decent value to me. He probably doesn't cost a ton and he can pop off a few times a year.

Clemence (assuming he is granted that final year) seems like a no-brainer for a returnee. He's come on strong in SEC play and brings length and experience in the system.

But I guess you never know what a guy is looking for in terms of NIL

Will probably take it going to court and them using the Pavia stuff

Yeah I just kinda think they've got some momentum to potentially build consensus on some of the rules currently under attack. But no clue where they're going to ultimately fall on juco rules.

I believe the following players ultimately have eligibility remaining:
Ruben Dominguez
Zach Clemence
Mackenzie Mgbako
Josh Holloway
Marcus Hill
Jamie Vinson
Pop Isaacs
Noah Shelby
Chris McDermott
Jeremiah Green
Hardworking, Unselfish, Fearless

Thanks for the list Clemence is one with another year he can be a really good contributor.
I suspect the bottom three on the list will be gone.
Is McDermott on scholarship?

Gone Agee, Griffen, Jacari, Feddy,

Scholarship or not doesn't matter anymore as to space you have. You have 15 roster spots and you can have all 15 on scholarship or choose to use however many you want to use. But somebody counts towards the 15 regardless. He most likely is on scholarship this year.

With the rules changes it's just easier to think of everyone as being on the payroll. There's no "walk ons" anymore in the traditional sense.

what i can say unequivocally is that bucky has significantly more options than what he has when he arrived. that in of itself should be very exciting.

I'm not sure Pop will choose to come back. I thought he had settled into a good role but he's had some bad games lately. Not sure if he'll want to go somewhere to start.

Bucky will have more money and time to find players but seems unlikely he will have the kind of money to go out and sign multiple (5+ ) top tier prospects

We need more quality length and and one guy that can finish and those guys are expensive

I would think that the guys that are here and contributing would be a better value they know the system and they are inexpensive which is why Bucky was able to get them here last year

Obviously the guys at the end of the bench maybe we try to upgrade but realistically speaking there are always a few guys at the end of the bench that are not getting minutes.

If the guys that are currently taking those spots are good character good teammate good practice players pay them the minimum and continue to build the
BuckyBall culture

I'd rather see more guys come back off of this squad and build the culture then go out and spend money on guys that may or may not buy in to what Bucky is doing here

Replacing a guy with the skillset and leadership that Agee has shown is going to be a big challenge imo . Huge hole there to fill. Won't be easy to find a guy as steady as Lane either . Need to find a 6 ft 4 version of Lane.

I believe Bucky is driven to succeed tho and he will put together another competitive roster and one more prepared to mix it up in the paint with big teams like Florida and Mizzou.

I'm actually not really worried at all about fielding a more talented team next year than we are this year.

you keep Zach no question, unless the money needed is insane. He has good versatility with his height and shot. For an old player, he still has a lot of upside if he can learn to play more physical.

I really doubt he comes back and I'm not sure if Bucky would be too upset about it. He doesn't shoot great, turns the ball over too frequently, just an ok defender, and not a great finisher.

I bet he wants to be volume shooter somewhere attempting low percentage (as far as points per attempt) mid-range shots.

I agree with you but to me those 2 are going to be the most difficult to replace . They are both generally very reliable . You know what they are going to do and they do it well consistently. Griffen is also turning into a fairly consistent player imo.

We absolutely need several guys that can challenge other teams bigs in the paint as well. That has to be an area of recruiting emphasis I'd think. Finding guys like that who can also run the court . They are out there I believe

Hopefully we don't feel the need to bring everyone back, out of empathy. Time to revamp this roster by replacing most of it.

I'm confused by that take. I could only feel you could make a case you are talking about mcdermitt.

Of course we shouldn't over nill guys to come back, but otherwise I'm not sure who you are talking about (that has eligibility left).
