I've got a 36" Thor Kitchen oven and range that came with the house that's been giving me problems lately. Even when completely off and given plenty of time to cool down(overnight) the interior of the oven is right about 220*. Earlier I set it to 250* just to check what the actual temp was when was done preheating and my thermometer read 415*.

Does this sound like a bad thermostat or could it be something else I'm missing?

Are you using the ovens thermometer or an external one?

I'm using an external thermometer to check the actual interior temp of the oven vs the set temp.

Just an idea but it is either a.) the control board or b.) the gas valve. If the gas valve isn't closing all the way and it senses gas flowing it ignites it (safety feature to keep you from filling your house with gas and exploding). So it is essentially running 24/7. Just wild guesses.

If your oven is off for extended period/overnight, and it's still 220* inside, I'd replace that sucker asap.
