Reroutes and tunneling is usually less expensive and much superior end result, based on my past experience.

If you decide to re pipe and tunnel, check with Plumbco.

I had gotten multiple quotes and Plumbco was least expensive, but they were able to fix the problem without doing any tunneling or re pipe, whereas the others went straight to recommending new pipes.

I don't think I've ever heard Plumbco and least expensive in the same senator.

Idk.

Most quotes I got was 12,500-18,000. Plumbco quoted $10,xxx I think. This was last summer.

for an extra $2.5k, I'd rather have the new pipes

That was for new pipes under part of the house (granted it was on the outside wall so partial repipe for the laundry and half bath). Coming out to driveway, down driveway about 20 feet and then angle ~40-50 feet towards backyard city sewer pipe ( also going under a portion of the covered patio).

***edited. I re-read your post and understand. I didn't pay $10,xxx or anything. There was no repipe. All they did was pull the half bathroom toilet up and snaked down the toilet sewer hole. Everybody else's tried to snake through clean out only, and since they couldn't get through, they all quoted me for a repipe.

Plumbco was the only one they said let's pull the toilet off and snaked down there. They got it cleared up and only cost me a few hundred dollars. But I asked them for a quote to lay new pipe anyways, just in case for the future. Sorry, I wasn't very clear in my original post.
