How long do you want to ignore this user?
I will be replacing up a fence soon. I intend to do metal posts for a 6' privacy fence. I will use metal posts, but saw this lifetime post . Is this a better substitute for 2-3/8" galvanized posts? I assume they are installed the same way in BCS clay soil; dig hole, set in concrete 30' deep"

Thanks

I have the round galvanized posts and honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with either choice. These lifetime steel square posts actually look better to me. Looks like you can hide the posts a lot better within the pickets. I might have gone with these a few years ago if I knew these were an option!

I've never used the Lifetime post but I've used this (https://www.homedepot.com/p/reviews/PostMaster-3-1-2-in-x-1-3-4-in-x-8-ft-Metal-Fence-Post-633664/204841591/1) and the Lowe's version. I've been very happy. The smaller profile gives a nice look and the weed eater won't damage them. Also don't need as big of a hole, so less work and concrete to place. I've never done a corner with them but I know they sell brackets to make corners with.

They are expensive, though. And last time, I did have to sort through the stack to find enough that had a good galvanized coating that wasn't already rusting.
