First time in nearly 40 years on this Earth dealing with these. Thankfully my infestation doesn't appear to be too bad. For now at least. And I know ultimately a super deep cleaning is probably needed to eradicate them, but I am balking at that prospect for now. Wondering if yall had any experiences with this issue and tips/products to use in the meantime. Got some sticky traps but were semi effective at best. Good ole moth balls on the way as we speak. Anything else? Cedar actually work?

Freeze your clothes for like a week. Can put them in those vacuum seal bags. Total pain but should work. Sometimes it takes a couple cycles

I opened up the closet doors and set off one of those bug bombs. A little excessive, but it worked...

Cedar closets of old are not very common these days because all that cedar has to be sanded once the surface has "tanned" losing its moth-offensive "odor". This is only a preventative, not a killer.

Today cedar replacements include removable shelves & wall panels, hangers, shoe trees, even blocks, etc. that can be sanded outside where such dust is a good thing for gardens.

One might think twice before killing moth predators outside now?

We saw improvement by using the blue bug light plug ins. Raid or STEM brand are interchangeable.

We have one in the Master bath that also works as a nightlight. It catches a ton of moths. That said, I pack seasonal wool in plastic zipper storage bags with cedar balls tossed in the bags.
