How long do you want to ignore this user?
Hoping someone here has an idea on whats happening with my bathroom fan. The short of it is I believed the fan was dead. Flip the switch on, and nothing. Fast forward a few months and someone had left the switch turned on and hours later, the fan came on. I turned the switch off and, like before, the fan would not come on after flipping the switch. Then tried leaving the switch on again, and eventually the fan started sometime later.

Thoughts, anyone?

Old fan or newer one? If you know the model, it would help.

it's 20 years old. i havent a clue what brand it is. If i can get it to work for six weeks or so, i'd take it.

Best guess with these details .... 20yo fan is weighed down with wet lint/junk that may last 6-100 weeks if cleaned very well. Then there's the motor/et al. that needs to wake up slowly after a deep sleep like old men I know. Lube is your friend ... as it is for the older set. I know ...
Gotta draw since me got no grammar

Just swapped one out in my rental, easy to do and cheap.
