Wet Carpet

How long do you want to ignore this user?
It appears that my guest bathroom commode tank developed a small, hairline crack in it and has been leaking for some time now. The water has been draining from the commode tank on to the floor (without my prior knowledge until the other day) and to the adjacent guest bedroom. The guest bedroom carpet is very damp/wet and I've been trying to dry the carpet out for the last few days by leaving the ceiling fan on, as well as placing an oscillating floor fan in the room. After three days, the carpet is still very damp and I'm looking for suggestions/recommendations to dry it out quicker.

Should I pull the carpet and padding away from the wall and keep the fans on high to facilitate the drying process? Or, just keep doing what I've been doing? Sometimes, home ownership just sucks...

Get a shop vac or carpet cleaner to help suck the water out of the carpet and pad. Then pull carpet and pad up to get air flow under and between both. Hope fore the best that way.

Current methods likely to end up with moldy pad and carpet.
