Looking at replacing doors, wife likes a solid core 50 lb door. Everything I read seems that weight only needs two hinges. Is that correct?

And if we go through the house with this same door will that be a good idea or is it better to find a lighter weight door. We do have two young kids so I told her them slamming might be an issue.

I would not trust a solid core door on two hinges

My 32 inch hollow core apartment doors have three hinges

Ok, a few hours after posting my wife just said we'll do the hollow less expensive option. Just need to get rid of these brown hollow core 1980s doors that have been through it over the years.

If you are going to be doing a ton of doors, invest in a track saw. It will change your life.
