This arrived today. If I can get the Active 20 running again I'll use as back-up or may just sell for cheap or part out.

2025 Aiper Scuba S1, aka "Howard". $736 out the door via Amazon Aiper Store.

I've been thinking about getting one. How'd it do on the first go?

I haven't run him yet. Had to charge plus dialing down algae issue. I'll post after a few iterations.

Only 2 runs on floor only but not impressed compared to Active 20. More to come.

If you really don't like it and plan on moving on, check out a Pentair prowler from marina pool and spa. Had mine for two months and it's crazy how much cleaner my pool is. Lot less work for me.

Will do. I bought the Active 20 from them in '20 and talked to Margaret a few weeks ago.

1st run of walls and floor. Still leaves on the floor after 4 cycles. Ugh.

I have it as well and not impressed. When it is on auto it doesn't clean all the floor. When it is on floor only it pushes dirt to the edges and doesn't pick it up.

I had a Polaris dolphin and it stopped working within 2 years.

May just blow up the pool.

I bought from Margaret at Marina Pools and Spa a few months ago. She steered me away from the prowler (I had the warrior which is the same thing) and mayotronics to the Aqua Evo 604.

It works just as good or better than the Dolphin/mayotronics, with a much better basket set up. Time will tell on the longevity, which was my only complaint with Dolphin/mayotronics (lasts 3-4 years).

So far, very happy with the Aqua Evo.

I went from the active 20 to the premier. Overall happy with the upgrade. Considering some kind of robot solar power skimmer.

Been running a Betta SE Plus skimmer for about a month. I bought the Plus as it can be charged with an AC adaptor and I like having a back-up power option. It's crazy how much stuff it takes off the surface, especially now with the Spring debris and onslaught of June bugs. I definitely recommend it. A couple of notes.

It can get hung up at the skimmer. Betta has a couple of suggestions on their site to remedy the issue.

When removing Betta from the pool, open the unit and remove the collection basket first, then remove the unit. If you grab the entire unit and remove at an angle debris has a tendency to fall out the back.

The remote is decent and frankly fun to sit poolside and navigate the Betta around the pool.

Final verdict? Going back to the Active 20?

I'm on year 5 of my Hayward Tigershark QC and after replacing various components last spring, I feel like it's on borrowed time. Is the move to call Marina Pool and Spa for the best fit/price?

I retired my Betta and went with the Skimmi - it cost $100 more but it has enough power not to get held up at the skimmer AND it can detect my faux infinite edge. The Betta was just stuck at the infinite edge or the skimmer inlet about 95% of the time.

It's going back. The Active 20 cleaned well, but reliability was crap. Considering the Evo604.

I got my first robot from Marina, the Aqua 614iQ, and I'm super impressed with it.

Yeah I posted above on the Aqua Evo. It's every bit as good or better than the dolphin, with a much better basket setup, better swivel, and better chord. Time will tell if the longevity is better.

One thing I missed when shopping is the Aiper doesn't have rear brushes. How I over looked that is maddening cuz I never would have made the purchase. Swing and miss on my part.

I've run it 20-25 times in the past 10 days and the visible wear and tear is surprising.

Bought the 614 from Marina back in Feb. It replaced a Pentair Prowler 920. I honestly thought my pool was clean. Nope! The 614 sucked up a layer of dirt the 920 couldn't.

After with comments about basket set up too. Much better as stuff doesn't fall out of it.

Lastly, Marina is top notch. No sales tax and free shipping to my house in Houston in a few days.

Very well. Thanks for the comments. I'm going with the Evo. Just need to decide on 604(no wifi) or 614(wifi).

Wifi doesn't work underwater so is basically useless in all these vacuums

Yep. Just ordered the 604.

Just FYI, there are 2 baskets. The standard leaf basket that comes with it, and a fine filter basket that you have to pay extra for.

I just switched to the fine filter basket for swim season and it picks up a lot of dirt I couldn't even see in my pool. I think it's definitely worth adding.

Hope you have better luck that we did. Our lasted less than a year.

Which one? Several have been discussed on this thread. And most have a 2 yr warranty. Did you use the warranty? Is the replacement/repair holding up?

My pentair warrior lasted 4 years, but started giving me problems right outside the 2 year warranty window. I suspect it's the case for all electronic pool robots, that you're only going to get 3-5 years out of them. Hoping the Evo lasts a little longer, but won't be shocked when it doesn't.

Oops sorry. The Aiper one.

Happy with the 604 so far. Just ordered the fine filter basket based on your feedback.

The WiFi is in the control module which doesn't go underwater.

Since summer started, I run the normal leaf basket daily, and then do the fine filter once per week. They're super easy to swap out.
