We received a quote to do roughly 350 linear feet of 4x6 Chop Block border around our garden space and I was a bit taken back by the price. Has anyone had this done in the Houston area and could provide insight into their linear feet price?

For reference we are looking at going with Leuders Grey and we currently have moss rock for our current border that would need to be removed.

How high?

Keep it all level, we have a level yard so elsewhere around our property it's a max of 2 blocks high.

I would guess that would cost somewhere in the neighborhood of 7-10K.
The stone alone would cost around 2.5-3 K delivered.

Price per linear foot is not a good way to compare as you'll be going two rocks high in some places, yet haven't told us how much of the footage is 1vs2 rocks high.

Cost will also depend upon the type of footing they will be constructing, your soils are far more expansive that I work in, so there should be some reinforcing rebar used.

Also a reminder that the stone border will effectively function as a dam, so you'll need to be cognizant of drainage patterns. You don't want to back water up and drown plants or flood an area with redirected runoff.

I got some similar quotes like this for our home and quickly realized I needed to either make more money or go to option B. Option B ended up being a pretty heavy duty bender board and it has come out pretty nicely overall.
