Planning to do two muriatic acid etch treatments and thinking about buying an Armor Garage DIY kit.

Anyone ever use this product?

Not interested in diamond grinding, only vacuuming, power-washing, and etching twice for prep.

Looks like a decent product

The prepwork is key of you want it durable

In the first house I owned, I did the garage floor coating myself.

I was the first person to live in that house, so the concrete was minimally walked on/drove on. So it was pretty clean. I pressure washed and then did 2 applications of the acid to etch it.

I believe it was a Bexar system I bought from some distributor around San Antonio. I'm sorry I don't remember the product.

But I parked my car in that garage for the next 13 years and nothing ever chipped up. It was still intact the day I moved out.

I don't know if that was just a really good system, or the prep was really good with the concrete being so virgin. I'm sure it was a combination of both. But I did have good success doing it myself.

Makes a huge difference

I did the rustoleum kit from Lowe's 5 years ago on a two car garage with 7 year old concrete. I pressure washed and degreased well, and let it dry. The kit came with its own etching so I used that, followed their instructions. Once etched and dried again, rolled it on and it's held up great to daily use by my wife on one side and automotive projects on the other. All about the prep, but don't hesitate to DIY.

I damaged one area by welding over it and it left some burn marks. Didn't start to flake even around that though (yet). Did rub some off with brake cleaner trying to clean up some oil once too, but it still didn't go completely through and I stopped once I noticed I was taking the coating off.

Definitely worth doing!

Test your slab to make sure it has a vapor barrier first. If it doesn't, these coatings wont last as well.
