The circled part. I can only find them in a kit with the whole drain cover and not just the little adapter. I really don't want to spend $20 for the whole lot for the one part. It's the part circled in red on this image. I've looked all over under several different names and can't seem to find it. TIA

Is that just a set screw? Does it have to be brass and that same shape or can you use some screw from the hardware story that matches threads and length?

I've never seen anything like that. Elliott's hardware in Dallas would be a place to check, but I'm doubtful.
Consider yourself lucky if you can fix any plumbing problem for only $20. Buy the kit and move on.

It is two different thread sizes. One goes in to the tub drain frame and the other goes in to the push down drain and this allows it to stay in place. I swear the only photo I can find of it is this crappy one from Amazon.

I've had to replace it before and I don't want to have to buy the whole kit every time. This time I will probably glue it in to the push down stopper.

Grok has given me like 4 different names for this part so that makes it even more complicated.

I'm not in Houston anymore but I can check moore plumbing supply. I figured finding it online wouldn't be this hard.

Here's a better picture of the part.

Don't know, but if you can tell me where I can get the 1st image thing (the whole thing) I'd love it. Both tubs in my house use that and I've got kids that broke one of the 2 stoppers I have.

They broke the shaft (don't ask me how).

That's a lift and turn and the one we are looking at is a push to close.

My wife actually found a Kohler drain that has the screw in part attached so no more backing out. It has been at my house for at least a year and I forgot I bought it. Go figure.

I still have the packaging so I can post the part number tomorrow if you want.

Also I reckon I can send you the one I removed that needs the screw for installation if you need it ha
