The Ladies Euro Tour is having an event at Golfcrest in Pearland next month, that is supposed to be featured on the Golf Channel for all three days. The tournament will feature a $2 million purse, and players will earn Solheim Cup and World Ranking Points.

While the final player list is still being confirmed, we've been told that some European Solheim Cup team members are expected to compete, with some LPGA Players participating as well. In the past I think Nelly Korda and Lydia Ko competed in the event, but I have no idea if they will this year.

It appears the tournament will be a team/best ball style format in conjunction with the individual stroke play setup. So that could be an interesting change of pace.

No mention of LPGA anywhere on their material so I doubt any top tier ladies will be there without LPGA blessing

It's the LET version of an elevated event / major and is about 1/4 of the purse of a LPGA majors event.

That's a fairly respectable purse for a LET, but how many people do they expect to attend? How many Americans know there is even a European Ladies Tour?

I had no idea until my daughter started playoff golf.

I was told that they are anticipating 3K/day to attend. That would be significant for East Pearland, so we'll see if it happens.

As for why they chose this particular course, apparently Aramco specifically requested a championship-caliber course in South Houston.

LET reached out to the USGA, Texas Golf Association, and the golf coaches at the UH and Rice. They all recommended Golfcrest - possibly because of past hosting of mini tour events, USGA qualifiers and the quality of the greens.

Seem to be in the know. Any idea what boxes they'll play? I assume they move them around but roughly per the scorecard. New greens and how they cut the rough can make it so much harder than it already was.

Genuinely curious about this event. Won't attend but Id like to watch.

GC is great course. Been able to see it alot in the past albeit not routinely. They do a great job in my opinion.

IIRC the areas they had reserved on the tee boxes seemed to be in the white/blue tee distances. So I'm thinking it will be in the combo yardage range.

Event update - there will not be any onsite parking at Golfcrest. Parking will be at the high school stadium thats about ten minutes away and complimentary busses will bring attendees in. The address for that parking area is:

The practice round is tomorrow. Its pretty cool to see how they transformed the site with all the structures and setups around the course. For the tournament there will be daily concerts, family games, QR prize pulls and other promo stuff going on in addition to the golf. With the ticket price its a pretty good deal.

I've seen conflicting things about the TV coverage, but currently the schedule I have is:

Friday: Live 1pm to 5pm NBC Sports App / 8pm - 10pm Golf Channel
Saturday: Live 12pm-2pm Golf Channel / Live 2pm- 4pm NBC Sports App
Sunday: Live 12pm-2pm Golf Channel / Live 2pm- 4pm NBC Sports App

I'm interested to see how the course displays on TV. Some of the social media clips have it looking good, but TV is a different deal.

Easiest way to get to the stadium in Pearland (if you have an EZ Tag) is to take the Beltway to Pearland Parkway. Stay on it past Broadway and you'll see the stadium after you pass a couple of neighborhoods and Independence Park.

Great point about Pearland Parkway. With funerals and the flea market, 35 could be a pain on the weekend. So Pearland Parkway is the better option.

Adela and Blanca are at +2 and are tied for 73rd currently. Hopefully they can have a good round tomorrow and turn it around.

I totally forgot about the flea market (35/Telephone) and cemetery (Cullen). Stay away from both of this roads, everyone.
