Very, very, VERY good.

What is Tech's most exciting home game this year?

Who has the easiest schedule of any Power Four team this coming season? That just might be Texas Tech

Would you rather have this one from the preseason?

Just so we're clear on this - Tech had an easy non-conference schedule. Embarrassingly easy. No question. Embarrassing.
Tech will finish the year having played what will probably be 4 ranked teams before the bowl/playoff season. Is it an SEC schedule? Nope. But then the SEC schedule is only as good as the SEC, and sometimes that is stronger than others. All that said:
I would rather Tech finish 12-0 than 8-4. But that's just me. Tech probably won't finish 12-0, but if they do they'll be in a discussion that they've never been in before, and I like it. A lot.

Tech right now is like SMU was last year and Cincinnati before that. They are in conferences that have little strength except for a team or two. However, the pundits of the CFP have to rate them high and involve them or their conferences will become irrelevant.
It's no different than any other competition, be it football, NASCAR, boat racing, horse racing, or golf…..if you take out the 1st and 2nd place contenders (I.E. tu and OU) the third place guy can then maybe win something finally. TAM would no doubt have some SEC west championships if LSU and Alabama would have been gone.

Please don't lecture me about watching Tech play. My wife went Tech. So yes I've had to watch. They look like SMU last year. We will see.

Playing a weak-ass schedule is a time-tested method of getting into the playoffs, and all of the bowl systems that preceded them. Then you roll the dice, and who knows? On any given Saturday...
But don't try to tell us, based on annihilating terrible teams, based on the "eye test" vs. said terrible teams, or based on stats/metrics that ignore strength of schedule, that Tech has shown itself to be a good team. Yawn.

She also said that most of the students she met there either wanted to go to TAM and couldn't or were arrogant " West Texas t-sips". Her words, not mine.
