Anyone that actually looks at this, can you tell me what I am doing wrong with my picture post? Using desktop mode and following the instructions to upload an Imgur link and hitting insert, and all I get is this thumbnail?

You're not embeding the image itself. You're embeding the link to the image album as it is called.
