Which is the better option when arriving at Harry Reid at midnight and needing to get to Harrah's? Uber or taxi? Thanks for any/all tips.

Totally up to you.

Cost is going to be similar.

Taxi line is right there by luggage carousels and uber you have to go upstairs to a queue area and can get pretty busy as well.

Taxi drivers tend to be a little rougher and aren't shy about pressuring you to up your tip.

We were there for NFR and taxi ride was good. Right outside luggage area. Should run you about $20.

Uber in Vegas, never had a problem in the past 7-8 years.

I have had some interesting rides though.
  • One dude had a side hustle if I was interested in going to a Gentlemen's Club.
  • Another guy told me about going to Barn Parties in Marlin, TX when he was stationed at Fort Hood in the 1970s.
  • And one Iranian dude in a Tesla Model 3 put the hammer down on I-15 and I finally got to experience that acceleration that every Tesla owner keeps bragging about.

From the airport, I walk right into a taxi. The fees are set, and I've never had a problem with tipping. Once I get to the hotel, I Lyft or Uber everywhere, including back to the airport when it's time to leave Vegas.

I would take a taxi. I've walked to the garage for an Uber at Harry Reid and it was a warzone.

This. Taxi first leg from the airport as it is very easy and orderly. Uber the rest of the trip

Last many times we have only taken Uber. Easy as we set it up as we are collecting bags and it has always been arriving as we arrive up in the waiting area. Good drivers, but we only use Uber Black.
The trouble with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

I prefer to taxi in Vegas because they are usually at the front door of the Strip hotels vs having to walk to some remote location in a parking garage for Uber pickup, especially at Caesars.

Taxi. Way faster than Uber and usually a little cheaper.

This is the best strategy
