Howdy!
As a travel agent with clients journeying all over the world, I'm always curious about the travel apps and gadgets that friends, family, and clients rely on when they hit the road. I get asked for recommendations all the time, so I love discovering and sharing new favorites.

Right now, my top app is Flightyit's perfect for tracking both my flights and those of my clients. When returning from international trips, I always use Mobile Passport to speed up my time through customs and immigration. I still need to get Global Entry, but Mobile Passport feels like the next best thing.

I recently discovered that the iPhone calculator app includes a built-in currency converter, and honestly, I find it easier to use than some of the standalone apps I've tried. And of course, Google Translate continues to impress, especially for clients who have been putting it to good use lately.

What travel apps or gadgets have you Texags travelers found indispensable?
I'd love to hear your recommendations!

The Whatsapp app proved extremely useful when I was out of the country. It allowed me to call my wife from the Antarctic, and it didn't cost a thing. Also used it to contact my hotels in Buenos Aires. As long as you have internet access, you can call anyone who is also on the app.

Radiogarden was nice to have on our cruises. It gives you access to thousands of radio stations across the world. We just played it through a small bt speaker.

Flightsfrom.com is cool.
It shows all non stop destinations from every airport worldwide.
It will show which airlines and the scheduled routes and pricing as well if you pick a date. You can filter by airline, country, depart time, etc.

Nice tool for those like myself who for the most part only consider destinations that I can fly non stop to.

It is map view which is nice.
Example; selecting DEN.

Why Ogio?

I see people, mostly business travel, carry them all the time. But I don't know anything about them.

I carry an Orvis Bug Out backpack, which is technically designed for fly fishing, but it's the best travel bag I've ever had. Very well designed for a one or two day overnight work trip.

I don't travel without my Bluetooth Adaptor for airplanes to sync with my wireless headphones.

Apps I use a lot are LineID, Grab, Bolt, WhatsApp are essential in SE Asia. I like to have XE to make sure I am getting a good conversion rate and watch trends before I go. Agoda, Airalo, Holafly, GeoBlue, MichelinGuide, Translator and Uber are also on my phone as well.

Flightaware
American
Hotel apps
Google Maps

I also like the currency function in the calculator; sometimes pull a translator app out in places like Japan but they seem to be hit or miss.

Not really a gadget, but I keep a sleep mask in my backpack. Handy for those rooms where the curtains don't quite close or the alarm clock lights up the entire room.

Also since I take solo cruises often, I stay in interior rooms. Those are nice little sleep caves but I take a magnetic motion detecting night light that helps with those late night trips to the bathroom.

These are all great!
I definitely need to check out Ogio I've heard of them but don't personally know anyone who uses their gear. My husband needs a new backpack, and their style looks right up his alley.

I also love WhatsApp! Many of our in-destination partners use it to communicate with clients and with me, and it has been incredibly helpful.

Flightsfrom.com looks really interesting, too. I'm going to have to dig into that one myself I'm always on the hunt for a good direct flight.

And I've been hearing a lot about those Bluetooth adapters! I've wondered how well they work, so now I'll have to try one out and share the tip with clients.

Ive only had mine 2 years, learned from a co-worker how in a previous life traveled more than we do now (which is a lot) but basically they last darn near forever.
Quality is great.
Lots of room for electronics (i have laptop, 17in travel monitor plus keyboard, trackball, kindle for reading etc).
Good pocket management (easy to separate into what goes where).
Room for ither items too (i keep spare underwear, socks, and toiletries in case of unexpected issues with bags)
They are comfortable as well.

For the business traveler one can cary all you need for work; for the pleasure traveler you can probably condense most 2 normal bags into 1 with the room provided for clothing etc.
And it can still fit under the seat in front of its your second bag.
