How long do you want to ignore this user?
Hey all. I'm flying into Salt Lake City Monday. Headed east towards mountain home. I would only have a few hours of free time. I was thinking about stopping in Park City or Sundance just to check one of them out. Any suggestions on which and what to see?

Bonus question on a recommendation for an outdoor store that would be open on a Monday in that area.

I love Park City, I'd head there and check out the Main Street/Old Town area if I had a few hours to kill. We usually only go during ski season, so everything is open every day, but there are a number of outdoor/ski shops on and around Main Street.

Sundance is just the resort, not really anything to see.

Depending on how much time you have, you can take the lifts up to the top. The Town LIft leave right from the downtown area, and then you can take the Bonanza Express further up, or the Payday Express back down to Mountain Village and then the Crescent Express back up.

Park City around Christmas/New Year's is like a scene from a Christmas Hallmark movie. It's fantastic.

Park City is going to be much more worthwhile.

I've eaten dinner in Sundance, during the Film Festival - so it was dark at night.
The only thing cool about going to Sundance was the fact that you have to drive on the most Redass Highway in Utah - Highway 92 - Whoop!

As far as some sort of outfitter, sporting goods store near SLC, if you're looking for cheap, Big 5 is good (I've shopped them in California).
If you're looking for more availability of stuff you'd need - Sportsman's Warehouse should have what you're looking for (I've shopped them in Nevada).

Id just hang out and drink beer in the No Name Saloon if I had a couple hours to kill.

We usually only venture to Park City during ski season, but it's beautiful during the shoulder season as well. Definitely hit up main street and jump on the lifts or the alpine slide if they are open.

I just booked trip to ski Sundance next winter and I'm excited!
