We are planning to include a couple of nights in a Lake Michigan beach town on the back end in addition to Chicago on the front end when we head to the Notre Dame game in September.

St Joseph/Benton Harbor are the closest to South Bend. But I'd be willing to drive a little further for a better location.

Anyone have any recommendations? We're looking for a beach and a quaint beach town vibe with some solid dining options.
