Will rent a catamaran to sail around Antigua early August - will hire a captain.

We have done the same in St. John/Thomas - anybody have any things we should do?

Beach restaraunt recommendations? Beaches to avoid? or Must see?

TIA

Edit to add - we know the risks of Hurricanes.

Last time I was in St John's we did a walking food tour that was surprisingly fun, and I've found the best way to get the full experience of a place is through the local food.

St. Thomas-
Secret Harbor
Magen's Bay
Water Island

St. John-
Trunk Bay
Maho Bay

These are all absolute can't miss. Some of the best beaches on the planet.

Half Moon Bay was our favorite beach in Antigua. It's on the Atlantic side but is protected by a reef so the pretty decent size waves break before entering the bay which creates really nice calmly rolling waves within the bay.

When you do that does the capital sleep on board? Do you also have a cook or do you cook for yourself / hit restaurants?

We have cooked on board and grilled when we did it in St. John/Thomas 4 years ago. We also went to a few restaraunts.

We will plan on doing the same in Antigua.

If you hire a Captain you have to provide quarters and a restroom. I believe if you hire a cook you have to provide the same.
