We are considering taking the kids on a trip to NYC over the Christmas break. I'm sure some of you have done this. What is the best site/place to book something like this? Is it better to book things all individually (flights, hotel/Air BnB/shows, sites, etc) or is there a place that can do it all for you? What other recommendations do you have to do or not to do? Use not to use? Any help is appreciated to get me going in the right direction.

My wife and I did this trip probably 20-25 years ago and I went through Sam's Club travel…lol. I highly doubt that is a thing anymore (who knows, maybe it is…I haven't even checked)

You are welcome to post anything here, or if you have anything you want to email me directly, that is fine as well. Thanks

I would do the Christmas Spectacular (Radio City Rockettes) and ice skating at the Rockefeller Center during that time frame.

I also recommend booking tickets ahead of time for both.

As a travel advisor I put together NYC Christmas trips for clients. If you are looking for an agent my contact info is in my bio. I'm headed there myself with a group I've created as a high school graduation. I wanted to include some of my pics from my previous holiday trips

Nyc at Christmas is great. I've been during that time of year several times. Went last year. Rooms are usually higher that time of year. I'd stay in midtown or near the park. I don't like staying by Times Square.

You'll want to walk up and down 5th Ave, see the Rockafellar center tree, and check out some Christmas markets. Consider a Broadway show.

If you've never been up in one of the towers to the observation level, it's fun. The Empire State building is my favorite.

911 museum is impressive.

Skip Ice Skating at the Rockefeller (on a super crowded tiny ice rink) and go across to Brooklyn. They set up a good size rink under the the Brooklyn Bridge on the water with great views of Manhatten. We enjoyed that way more

Agree on skipping ice skating at Rockefeller. Radio City/Rockettes, a musical (not Harry Potter), walk through Central Park, Museum of Natural History, 911 Memorial, view the city in a high rise at dusk, lunch at Los Tacos #1, walk through Little Italy/Chinatown near lunch time - get pizza while there, Times Square at night, O'donnells Irish Pub near Times Square (even if you don't drink), walk Brooklyn Bridge, stroll 5th Avenue in late afternoon. Bring a winter jacket, gloves, etc.. It can get pretty cold. Love NYC at Christmas.

Stay at the Loews NY Palace right across the street from St Patrick's Cathedral and a block from Rockefeller Center. Very walkable to Times Square and Central Park.
