Anyone frequently use Chase Travel to book flights?

Was going to book a Delta flight overseas with my new Sapphire Preferred card for the 5X pt bonus. However, it doesn't let me choose my seats saying its not a partner airline. If I choose the other option, KLM, I can choose but nothing looks available on a flight I know has a ton of open seats.

If I just book the flight with Delta, can I access my reservation afterward on Delta and pick/change seats at that point? Or call them? It's a family trip and a long flight, so while I am doing economy I can't risk being given random or separated seats. Basically need a center row of 4. I'll just not use Chase Travel if it's any risk at all (prices look the same), but anyone deal with this regularly? Thanks!

No - just got my card today and was looking at the options for the first time this evening. Just wasn't sure if this was the norm using Chase Travel and figured someone would know.

You *should* be able to select seats on KLM after booking but I do feel like they have seat selection fees.

Note I know nothing about using points form Chase, but I often book flights where I have to log into the other vendor to select and/or pay for seats. (United/Lufthansa, AA/BA, etc).

Some point I'll learn the Chase stuff cause I have the Sapphire Reserve but just keep accruing points lol.

In my experience with chase travel -

1) calling them will get you places
2) if you book the flight - the reservation will appear on your delta app fairly quickly and from there you should be able to pick your seat

Thanks! I did call yesterday and they said it show flow like you said. Plan to buy today through Chase Travel

This is correct. I always get a better deal when I call for flights. Hotels not so much.

A better deal..like cheaper airfare? So just call them to book the flight and ask if they can do better than whats on their site? What's on there now is basically the same exact price if I were to go straight through Delta - was just going to do it through Chase for the points bonus.
