Will be there this weekend. Any super solid recommendations for meals downtown? Don't need anything super fancy, just prefer not to eat at chains and love personal recommendations to cool spots.

Our hotel is downtown but I also don't mind a quick Uber if a non-walking-distance place is can't miss.

Went to a Guardians game a couple years ago and after we went to Mabel's BBQ and it was pretty darn good. If you are from Texas, that might not be what you want, but there are a lot of other trendy spots around there that looked good too.

Townhall in Ohio City is a great brunch/lunch spot. Mitchell's ice cream next door ain't bad either.

I always get a kick out of people recommending ice cream places to people traveling. I'm not knocking you at all ketchup, I just have never got it. To me ice cream basically all tastes the same.

Yeah I get that. I recommended it only cause I used to live up there and am partial to both of those spots, and Mitchell's is a city staple and convenient spot next door.

Genuinely think Cleveland is a vastly underrated city. Hope you enjoy OP! West side market is also quite cool to poke around.

Mabel's is a Michael Symon restaurant. He is on the food network and from Cleveland. Good food.
Downtown has become somewhat dodgy ever since the BLM riots.

Cleveland has a 'Little Italy' district, Trattoria is a nice place. I know a lot of people who liked La Dolce Vita too but I never tried it.

If you're into beers I cannot recommend Great Lakes Brewing enough, it's a classic. Masthead was an up-and-comer right before I moved and is doing well now.

The Heinen's Grocery Store on Euclid downtown might be the prettiest grocery store to exist. It's an old bank building.

If you're looking for activities, a Guardians (RIP to The Tribe) game is a great way to kill an afternoon.

I'd love to check that stadium off my list but they're out of town this weekend. We're there for the marathon this weekend, and staying downtown near the start/finish line. Get there tonight, check in is tomorrow at the Expo then we're free the rest of the day.

Completely blanked that the Hall of Fame is there. That might work great for Saturday afternoon!

Great Lakes is one of my favorite larger regional breweries. Seems everything they make is good.

Ate there before an Indians game about 2 years ago. Nothing super remarkable, but tasty good brewery food regardless.

When my daughter liked there, we always ended up in Tremont. Not exactly downtown, but a lot of good restaurants.
