My wife and I are headed down to Belize next week. We're staying at the Victoria House on AC and have scuba and deep sea/flats fishing lined up. If you have recommendations on restaurants or anything else that comes to mind, please share. Thank you in advance!

We're going late May. I've heard the sargassum weed is bad this year, so be aware of that.
If you haven't done it before, do a sunset cruise with El Gato tours. Nothing fancy, but a great way to wind down.

When we were there in 1997, Elvi's Kitchen was the place to go. The fact that it is still there 25 years later and getting good reviews probably means something.

Great dessert at the Victoria House - warm molten lava cake and ice cream.

If it is still there, see the feeding of the croc in the evening.

Do the Blue Hole scuba... was amazing... went to 140 ft and loved it.

Appreciate the heads up. Hadn't looked into sargassum until your post. We'll see when we get there on that deal, but nice to have the heads up.

One year, during a sunset cruise, the boat was surrounded by jellyfish (I guess) that were flourescing purple. It was pretty cool.
The boat captain, Geraldo, is a 3rd generation San Pedran and has become a friend of ours. If you get a chance, do a half day snorkel and lunch with him. He cooks on a little pit on his catamaran and is as good as anything you'll eat while you're there.

No Rush sailing charters for half or full day sailing/snorkeling.

Heading to San Pedro town 7/26-7/30 for a last minute fishing trip with a buddy. Any recent report on the sargassum situation around Ramon's Village?

Planning a half day reef fishing trip through Ramon's, full day flat's trip with Captain Darrel Smith, golf cart cruise for a third day. Any tips or must sees for the booze cruise day/afternoons on the island?

Take cart to secret beach and chill

Take your cart and explore. Park at Palapa Bar and bar crawl the over the water bars in the area. Far enough out on the water the sargasso shouldn't be a problem.

If you want to shock the locals and have some good ceviche in the process, show up to Juvinie's cevicharia for some roof top sunset over the lagoon views.

Another option is taking the water taxi over the caye caulker one afternoon to explore that island (main drag is small and can be done in an afternoon).

I loved Someplace South for dinner.

Toast is right down the road from Victoria House and was a cool place for drinks and snacks.

Sandy Toes was also a fun place for drinks.

Was there at the end of May…sargassum was as bad as I've ever seen it in the 30+ years I've been going. Smells worse than crap and stains the water in close.
Still my favorite place to go.

Funny story about Marbucks. We were flying down out of IAH probably 5 or 6 years ago. Wife and kids were excited and talking about getting coffee and breakfast at Marbucks. Lady in line behind us speaks up - "I'm Mar!" She had been on a 24 hour travel schedule thanks to some delays coming back from Canada. We make it a point to stop in a couple of times when we're down there. I know she was trying to sell the place, don't know if she did.

Has anyone taken the ferry from Belize City to San Pedro in lieu of the puddle jumper?

Have used it when traveling to the mainland for an excursion. Not bad but the flight to SPE is cheap enough and quick enough that we always fly over.

Anyone else going to see Max & Heather Stalling at Victoria House in a few weeks?

Any suggestions for a good fishing guide there that you'd recommend we use? (Not really interested in anything deep sea.) Thanks
