I've read some about these being great places to visit to get the Mediterranean experience without the crowds in Greece. Anyone been?

Been to both. I would suggest Montenegro. Better tourist infrastructure. Kotor is great. Budva is ok

Have never been to Albania but have read it is developing. This is just me but I prefer going to places before they become overly developed.
Bali in 1970 was amazing when they did not have much electricity. One got used to warm bintang as well as other stimulation

That's a good point, I'm kind of the same way. However, the wife is with child, so I'm not sure she would enjoy being as adventurous this go round.

Spent 5 days while I was pregnant in Montenegro in Kotor as part of our 2 week "babymoon" trip! Absolutely fantastic and such a hidden gem.

I'd totally recommend your wife do her maternity photos in Montenegro at the Bay of Kotor! I hired a photography from instagram 6 years ago when I did mine and they are some of the most beautiful photos!
