We are taking the teens who probably aren't super interested in the historic stuff. But we are going for an event and we've decided to make it a vacation for the family. They'll have to deal.

We need suggestions.

Must-see?
Not worth the trouble?
Anything we need to have reservations for ahead of time?
Best places to stay and or places to avoid?

You get the idea. Sure would appreciate advice from folks who have visited and/or live there.

I typically stay near the Haynes convention center/Boylston/Copley area. A lot of standard hotel options there and central to most things.

Freedom Trail and follow that into Little Italy.
Lot's of touristy spots: Mike's cannolis, Regina Pizza, Salumeria Italiana for a sandwich to go. Really just pop in a few places or what ever looks fun, grab some snacks and then Boston Common park.

I hate baseball, but really enjoyed my time at Fenway. Cool vibe around the stadium, the stadium tour is cool.

Uber/taxi to city (it's close) and then subway/train from there. I find it very walkable and public transit is great. I have noticed an uptick in undesirables, but have never felt unsafe.

Theatre district is decent if into that. Have done Boston by foot tour and enjoyed, teens likely would hate that. Have heard good things about evening harbor tour.

There is a hotel that was a former jail in town that seems fun (Liberty Hotel) never been. There are also some old churches that have been converted to restaurants, can't remember off hand but maybe worth seeking out if you like historical buildings.

Seeing a game at Fenway is a must. Hands down best MLB stadium I've been to.

My favorite hotel is the Liberty - it's right near the harbor and an easy walk to everything. It used to be a prison and they kept a lot of the original elements like cell doors etc, which my kids were fascinated by. Service is impeccable.

I've got teenage girls, so they're easily entertained with shopping and cute photo ops, Beacon Hill and Back Bay are great neighborhoods to walk around for that.

Saltie Girl is my favorite overall restaurant, and Cantina Italiana is excellent Italian. Modern Pastry is every bit as good, or better, than Mike's and there isn't a line around the block.

We took a train to Salem (short trip from Boston). Really liked it but i like all the Salem witch stuff.
You can walk the city in a day and there's some cool museums if that's yalls thing.
