How long do you want to ignore this user?
Working on next summer's plans. I already have flights and the cruise booked. Everything else is up in the air. Any thoughts on this, particularly looking for thoughts/ideas for the period of time between the cruise and Paris?

Late June to early July -
Day 1-2: Fly to Rome
Day 3-10: RCCL Med Cruise - Rome, Naples, Barcelona, Mallorca, Cinque Terra, Rome.
Day 10: AM Train to Milan (Museum/Shopping/Eat)
Day 11: Bernina Express over Alps to Zurich
Day 12: Zurich and/or Lucerne
Day 13: Train to Paris (AM or PM?)
Day 14-16: Paris
Day 17: Fly home

Should I spend another day in Switzerland? Or just get a taste from the Train/Zurich/Lucerne and realize that we'll have to come back for a proper Switzerland trip?

My thought regarding Switzerland is don't take the Bernina Express and go all the way from Tirano to Zurich. You can take regular trains along the same route and get off at Lucerne, and spend 2 nights there before heading on to Paris. Lucerne is much more scenic than Zurich and has some mountain outings that you can make in half a day (like Pilatus or Rigi Kulm).

to clarify, you mean DON'T go all the way from Tirano to Zurich? What train route would you suggest?

I double checked and it looks like the Bernina Express terminates in Chur. So, you will get off the special trains there, and then get on regular trains. You can go from Chur to Lucerne, instead of Zurich. You don't need to spend a night in Zurich.
