We have a flight landing at 930 PM on a Sunday night and would like to store our checked bags (3) at the airport to ease the travel into London as well as the morning activities prior to making back to the airport for the flight to Houston (departs 2:40 PM). I've seen where you can store them at a local hotel since the luggage service is closed by the time we land.

Any suggestions?

Are the flights on the same PNR? Are you sure your bags do not remain "checked" through? I know when my clients have an overnight layover in Miami, they don't get their luggage, it stayed checked with the airline.

That's a good point, I'll check with the airline. I assumed with long layovers you have to get your bags.
