Heading to Italy the end of June first of July, we are looking for some restaurant recommendations in the above places. I am mainly looking for a nice place to eat each evening. We will be in Rome, Milan & Venice for two evenings and Siena & Bologona for one.

The plan is to find good local places for lunch during the day but we would like to have a reservation for dinner in the evenings. There will be four of us if that makes a difference.

We really enjoyed Il Gabrielo in Rome. Pizzeria da Baffetto for Roman style pizza is a true locals place, too.

We loved this little cafe in Siena right along the maroon canopied patios on the piazza del campo

Try out Osteria Jenny Piazza dei Campani. It's a little out of Rome's tourist zone but worth a visit....you can easily walk there if you're up for a stroll. I stayed in an apartment above the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed the neighborhood.

Finding good food in Rome is kind of like finding a good beach in Hawaii... it's harder to find a bad one.

But the only one we went back to for a second meal was called Cucina del Teatro.

It would be within walking distance of the Vatican, of the Pantheon, of the Trevi Fountain... so good chance you'll be near it. Small place, but we got the kindest service, and it was our favorite food within a typical price range.

Great food can be had in Rome without spending a ton of money.

Also went to this Gelateria multiple times during our days there

In Siena would rec to just find a restaurant in the main piazza, the view and experience here beats finding a hole in the wall IMO

in Rome - Hotel Maalot, very close to Trevi fountain, had a very good restaurant, had our 10th anniversary dinner here.

Also had a great evening of drinks at this rooftop bar - Alto
