Heading to Merida Mexico in a month. Looking to visit an old hacienda - but not a hacienda that's been turned into some fancy 5-star hotel. I know there are old, abandoned haciendas outside Merida that are being taken over by the jungle and mother nature. Is there a way to visit any of these old, abandoned haciendas? I certainly don't want to trespass on someone's property. But all the tour guides and stuff I find online appears to only include the fancy wedding-destination style haciendas. What about visiting a hacienda not fixed up?
