Ferrari & Lamborghini Museums in Italy - Is it worth the time?

I am planning a family trip to Italy this coming year. Initially I was insisting on spending a day touring Ferrari and Lamborghini while travelling between Venice and Florence. The problem is that it complicates travel and steals a day from Rome. I have 7 days available not including arrival and departure days. Without allocating time to Ferrari/Lamborghini I have 3 or 4 days in Rome, 1 or 2 days in Florence, and 2 days in Venice.

If you have been, is it worth skipping a day in Rome or Florence in order to visit Modena & Bologna for Ferrari and Lamborghini tours?

Are you driving or on a train?

Remember, it's just a museum and not a factory tour.

I didn't see Lamborghini but we were driving and going through Modena so we stopped at the Ferrari museum. While I'm glad I saw it, I wouldn't make a special effort to see it. You might just pick one.

However, what is cool about travel, it's the unexpected things that make it interesting. While stopped in Modena, we discovered a local restaurant that had the best appetizer on that trip or perhaps any other of all time.

A regional specialty
Gnocco Fritto E Prosciutto Crudo

If you plan out Rome, then you should have enough time to do what you want.

You need a minimum of 3 days in Rome. Unless you're planning to go back in the future.
Personally, I think doing a little of modern Italy would be cool.

As mentioned above you can't tour the Ferrari museum, unless you own a Ferrari. We toured the Ferrari museum, Lambo factory & Pagani factory. The Pagani factory tour was awesome! We spent a day doing those by the time we took a train from Florence to Bologna & then met up with our tour guy. From an engineer/car guy standpoint it was worth it.

Most likely travelling by train. And what complicates it, is what would we do with our luggage while touring the museums? I know some train stations have lockers, but not all.

You meant to say "You can't tour the Ferrari factory without owning a Ferrari"

Same as the Porsche factory, but back in my younger days I knew a few people who did so I tagged along the factory tour. It was amazing!
