How long do you want to ignore this user?
We'll be staying in Sevierville for several days for the upcoming UT game and I'd like to fit in a couple of hikes.

Looking for something moderate to moderate difficult.

I understand they the traffic can really back up in Gatlinburg. Is there any way around that?

Also, any dining recs in area would be appreciated. Ideally not chain joints.

We are doing Clingmans dome Friday
Alum Caves on Sunday

Weather looks iffy Sunday with light constant rain and cooler temps so bring appropriate clothing

Use the bypass to avoid Gatlinburg.

Most schools are out and it has been crazy packed here the last few days. I would expect tomorrow (Friday) to be worse traffic and numbers wise.

We did Clingman's yesterday. Traffic was pretty bad but we were able to get a spot. Heard good thing about Chimney Tops but we didn't feel good about that with the kids.

We were just there a week and a half ago.
Family vacation rather than for the game.

Lots of "cookie cutter" log cabins, we stayed in one that was much older but had charm and history. Would do it again. "Robins Nest" if you can find it on VRBO.

We did the Dollywood and usual kids stuff things in Pigeon Forge, but still had a great time.

Concerning Gatlinburg, gets super congested very fast. Lots of traffic. Avoid the headaches and get there early and park. Walk everywhere until you're ready to leave.

Same with GSMP. Get there early. Very limited parking in the park. Fills up quickly.
