On multiple occasions I have booked properties through VRBO, only to receive a Rental Agreement in my email directly from the property manager, circumnavigating VRBO.

Does this go against VRBO policies?

This most recent property is in the the northwest Florida beaches. My mom recently had a bait and switch on a property in the same area she booked directly through the property management company. Because she booked directly, and the fine print stated they could change the property on the booking to a 'similar' property, she had no recourse.

Good question.

I know I hesitate to book a VRBO that is managed by a third-party, like Vacasa. Never had a horrible experience, but it's always better to deal directly with an engaged host.
