Was supposed to fly from DFW to London today and our flight got cancelled about 6 hours prior to take off. After looking at their flights this week it looks like 3 out of the 5 days this flight has been cancelled (takes off at 7:15 pm from DFW)

Anyone have any insight into what's going on? Was thinking maybe the storm over the Atlantic but seems like a lot of cancelling the same flight.

We are allegedly rebooked onto the same flight tomorrow, but don't have a lot of high hopes for getting on there / it taking off.

Really screwing up a good 10 day itinerary between Scotland and London

Tell them to rebook you on AA. They have 4 direct flights a day from DFW to LHR and you'll have much better chances than relying on the 1x daily BA flight. They should do it with no hassle since they are both Oneworld airlines and codeshare back and forth seamlessly.

Looks like the reason is high winds at Heathrow

From NationalWorld:

Quote:

British Airways has cancelled several flights from a major UK airport today (Saturday 23 September).

It comes after the airline cancelled a number of flights to and from Heathrow Airport on Wednesday (20 September) and Thursday (21 September) due to "high winds".

The airline said on Wednesday that the windy weather has resulted in Air Traffic Control restrictions which is limiting the number of aircraft that can land/depart per hour at Heathrow Airport.

British Airways said in a statement on Wednesday : "Like other airlines, due to high winds, we have had to slightly reduce our schedule today. We've been in touch with customers to apologise and provide them with rebooking options or the option to receive a full refund."

I always turn to FlyerTalk for information on what's going on with the airlines. If you cannot sort info on your particular question, then sign up an account and ask it.

Best of luck on your trip.

Thanks everyone. We luckily made it out the next day after we were originally scheduled so didn't mess up our trip too bad.

Making a run through Scotland and had a nice night in Oban last night. Currently on a ferry to see some of the isles.
