I am traveling to Copenhagen for a wedding in November and will have a couple of days to site see. Any recommendations from the board?

How much time do you have?

Warpigs barbecue/brewery.
Gasoline Grill burgers (best burger in the world?).
Noma is closing next year, so if you want to go to the/one of the best restaurant in the world, now's your last chance.

I went with kids, so most of my experience is in that context.

I would definitely go to Torvehallerne food hall to grab a meal and a beer.
Tivoli gardens is worth a visit, even if you don't want to ride any rides.
The zoo is cool if you've never seen a panda in real life.

We had a great meal along the harbor in Nyhavn, several smorbrod and beers.


The bus/train system is incredible, we got around very easily without any cars.

I'll add to the list if I think of anything else.

As far as sights, I think the castles are worth a visit. Make sure to catch the changing of the guard.
Also don't miss the ruins of the first castle (1100's) under Christianborg palace.
Climb the round tower.
We didn't take the kids over to Freetown Christiania, but that's something you'll want to do. It's sort of an autonomous hippy zone on the east side of the harbor. You can take a bus over there.
Shop on Stroget street. The lego store on that street has a couple of Denmark-only things that you won't find anywhere else on earth.

You can get everything I listed done in that time, especially if you aren't dragging little kids with you.

I forgot to mention, go look at the Copenhagen Card and check if the things you want to do are included and compare prices. We did a 48 hour card and doing a couple of the more expensive attractions (Tivoli, zoo, for example) made the card well worth it, plus you get all public transportation included.

It was especially good value for us because the card is free for kids, so that saved us hundreds. So it might not be as good of value to you if you won't have kids there.

I thought Tivoli Gardens was awesome, but we were there in Summer and had our kids. They have a wooden roller coaster that is controlled by a manual hand brake that the operator controls. The sausages in a bun were delicious. .

COPENHAGEN

I suggest staying in Osterbro neighborhood. The US Embassy is located there as well. It's walking distance to a lot of things.

8. Take the train to Malmö (Sweden). About a 30 minute ride from the central station.

And if you stay in Osterbro, you don't have to hike your ass all the way across town to see the Little Mermaid statue, since it's about a 15 minute walk from any public transit stop.

Take a commuter train north to Humlebaek Station go see the Louisiana Museum, if you like modern art. Beautiful setting. Could take train to Roskilde, the church there is where all the Kings and Queens are buried. More than enough to see and do just in Copenhagen though. Go find a cart and try a danish red hot dog with all the fixings. Mmmm.

What part of November? I was there late last November/early December. I stayed at the Nimb Hotel which includes access to Tivoli. It is absolutely gorgeous at Christmas time. Unfortunately we were sick for most of our time there so I don't have a ton of other recommendations. The concierge at Nimb secured us a reservation at Noma and Geranium but we only made it to Noma.

Walking around is extremely picturesque. Have fun!
