Going to Nashville for a couple of days. What are some cool spots to stay, and to see and do outside of the downtown Broadway area? Thanks for any suggestions.

Leipers Fork is a cool little town to check out if you want to get out of the city for a while. It's kinda like how Round Top is.

The hermitage was great. We enjoyed a day trip to swing by stones river battlefield and Jack Daniel's distillery

Oh, and there's a big park in town…Percy something maybe…but the trails were great

We stayed at the Hilton on Broadway over Spring Break for the SEC men's basketball tourney and to tour Vandy (oldest is a senior in high school). The downtown Hilton is very nice (atrium type hotel). It puts you within walking distance to almost everything downtown including being directly across from the Country Music HoF, which the entire family enjoyed!

Plenty of AirBNB's but Grand Hyatt Nashville is a good spot; close enough to get to Broadway on foot, but quiet.

There's an underground margarita place between Broadway and Grand Hyatt that's great. Also a great Food Hall.

Good Italian food in Franklin, but can't think of the name.

Nelson's Green Brier Distillery is fantastic and is located in downtown Nashville. It was originally started in the 1800s and produced more whiskey than Jack Daniels. But after being shut down during prohibition two great-great-great-grandsons of the original founder reopened it in 2011.

Second the listening room! We did that when we were in Nashville in July and it was fantastic. The songwriter who performed that night was Kent Blazy, who wrote several Garth Brooks songs (If tomorrow never comes, ain't going down til the sun comes up) as well as the recent hit "the black dress song". The stories he told about how the songs came to be were so interesting! Highly recommend!

I'll also second Nelson's Green Briar Distillery - one of the more interesting and fun 'tours' we've done!
Our favorite restaurant was Husk and enjoyed speakeasy The Patterson House.

We stayed at the Westin last time we were there and liked that it wasn't right on Broadway but still within walking distance to everything and was quiet. We wanted to do Airbnb but it was way cheaper to stay at hotel.

We went twice last time we were there. Don't worry about who's playing, just go.

Brunch buffet at Adele's on the weekend is out of this world. Make sure to make a reservation to be safe.

Our son got engaged in the Franklin area in July. He lives in Nashville. We stayed the entire 5 days out in the Franklin area and absolutely loved it. Nashville is cool…but the Franklin/Leipers Fork area is such a great place- even if just for a day trip. Some recommendations (some from this board):
Puckett's- great country food and live music
Kimbro's Pickin' Parlor- the coolest place..in an old bungalow- just roam room to room for music
Arrington Vineyards- owned by Kix Brooks

Catch a soccer game if you're into that. Beautiful ballpark and it's crazy at how the city shows up for games.
