Anyone ever been inside the Chungking Mansions in Hong Kong?

This place is on Nathan Road over on Kowloon. I've walked past it but never went inside because didn't want to deal with any risk of bs on that particular trip. Now I regret not checking it out because I may never get back there.

In any event, this place is supposed to be one of the wildest places in the world. Has been compared to a cross between the Mos Eisley cantina in the original Star Wars and something out of the original Bladerunner. It has also been compared to the Kowloon walled city that was torn down in the 90s.

Has anyone ever been inside this place or stayed in this place?

What was your experience?

As a side note, if anyone is looking for somewhere to go, Hong Kong may very well be the wildest urban place in the world. I've been to most major world cities in Asia. HK is my #1 choice. It is a place like no other. #2 would be Singapore.

We were just in HK last week for a day stop on a cruise. HK was amazing. We only had enough time to wander around Tsim Sha Tsui, take the Star Ferry harbour tour, see the Museum of History, and the Avenue of Stars. Hope to go back someday.
