Headed to Kansas City in a few months. Is there anything I must see while there?

Theres BBQ everywhere - Joes KC in the gas station on 39th, Q39, Arthur Bryant's near 18th and Vine (lock your car and don't leave and valuables), jacks stack for cheesy corn, slaps near strawberry hill, the plaza for shopping, Ameristar and Capri on the River for gambling and if the royals are playing, the best cheesesteak in town is just up the the right bleachers. River markets a cool little spot too.

Edit to add: monarch bar on the plaza is one of our fav bars in the whole country.

You can also see if anything going on at KC P&L district downtown. That's where hot summer nights is thrown. You can also see if the chiefs are playing. It's like a college atmosphere w tailgating and a great environment. If you need chiefs tickets, I still have ours from where we lived there.

NCAA basketball hall of fame. Especially good if you have kids, lots of opportunities to shoot baskets.

Don't sleep on the Steamship museum. It's really good.

Crown Center and Union Station are nice especially if you have young kids. WWI museum and monument are right across the street from Union Station. KC zoo is nice.

There are handful of pumpkin farms in the KC suburbs that have activities like pumpkin and apple picking, hayrides, corn mazes, etc. Apple cider donuts are a big thing in KC in the fall.

KC BBQ, IMHO, is good but not great. Pretty much on par with basic BBQ in Texas.

Agree with all the above. If you like art museums, the Nelson Atkins is a pretty good one.

Negro Leagues Baseball Museum and the Jazz museum next door.

I am a fan of Jack Stack Bar B Q at the freight house.

Kansas City Taco Company is good in a neat area of KC.
