Update just in case anyone might be going to Montreal......we had dinner at Au Pied de Cochon and it was delicious. The atmosphere was great and the service was excellent. I started with the tomato tart, followed by the pork chop. My wife started with some sort of BLT, followed by Shepherd's Pie ( lamb and venison ). We tried some of each and I think my choices were the winner. I was a bit reluctant to try the tomato tart, but it was incredible. An extremely light, fluffy pastry was loaded with cheese, tomatoes, fresh cream. My pork chop was a healthy portion, surrounded by potatoes and the entire dish was swimming in a delicious "gravy", probably a mix of pork drippings, butter, etc. . I ordered a side baguette, which was critical for sopping up the gravy. We split the maple syrup/bread pudding dessert, which was super rich.We didn't come close to finishing the bowl and it could probably be split 4 ways.
This place wasn't close to the airport hotel and our reservation took us through rush hour traffic. That was a bit disappointing, but we decided to go anyway since it's our 1st trip to Montreal.
The meal was kind of pricey, but the food, service and atmosphere was worth it. Just my 0.02 cents.
