I thought some here would find this article about Southwest's revamping interesting:

Some things of note:

"The carrier reported record operating revenue of $7 billion during the second quarter"

"Among the changes, Southwest will fly less on Tuesdays, pull back from some short-haul markets and trim early-morning and late-night flights"

"Southwest said it expects the third quarter to bring another revenue record, but it said that revenue per seat flown a mile could be as much as 7% lower than in the same period in 2022."

The other airlines are also forecasting lower domestic revenues so this may be a response to help separate the chaff.

a lot of my business flights are on tuesdays. will be interesting to see what the schedule looks like

They should revamp their operational processes and legacy IT systems

They've cut a sizable number of their flights to MX. I've noticed that over the last couple of months.
