Santa Monica seafood market & cafe. Went there in 2017, and I still talk about those scallops.

Agree on a Dodgers game. Dodgers Stadium is a cool, nostalgic stadium. And Chavez Ravine just has that classic LA feel.

Neptune's Net is in Malibu. Great lunch spot.

I enjoy day drinking in Venice, but it can be a little sketchy with all the homeless and crazies.

Yeah my bad - it's in the way to Ventura past Trancas Canyon. No idea how I messed that up. I used to live there.

Bay Cities for lunch, great Italian deli
Shoops for breakfast, love their smoked salmon
Gjelina, Felix, or Cassia for a nicer dinner

Avoid eating at the pier, but you can take in some rides. If I have to eat there I'd rather just hit Deans

Great hiking in Topanga or Malibu nearby

The Getty is worth checking out as well

Our kids loved the SM pier, we did the amusement park twice. Many of the hotels have cruiser bikes so a quick ride down the Venice is some great people watching. Agreed I wouldn't go to VB after dark. We never had a car either time we went.
